Tour guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable. They catered the day to our needs. Had a very small group of 8 people. Groups can be as large as 20.

Great small group, full day tour of three distinct wineries, two in Napa and one in Sonoma. Each winery served four to five generous tastings and did a very nice job of explaining their process. Our guide, Army, was knowledgeable and fun. He really went above and beyond even taking photos like a pro, that will give us great memories. Additionally, at the last winery, he and the winery owner (Hans Fahden Winery, Sonoma) took us to the top of a mountain on the estate for really exceptional views to top off the day. It made it such an easy excursion having Army pick us up and drop us off at our hotel, even offering to drop us at the restaurant where we had reservations for dinner that evening. Definitely a day well spent.

Fantastic red wines! All of the employees are so very friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the wines at the winery. The small bites were dim sum. They were delicious!

Nice experience. Beautiful place and good guide. The tasting was good. We sampled several varieties that we had not previously had acess to.

Our guide Jaye was very knowledgeable and personable. We had a fantastic time and learned a lot. We have always loved the red blend, but now have a new favorite!

The wines were delicious and our sommelier, Roberto, was amazing. He answered all of our questions and told us about the history of Prisoner Wine Company. He truly made the experience!

Was a great introduction to the art of winemaking. Our tour guide Tony kept the group engaged and provided lots of information about Napa Valley.

It was an experience featuring Asian dim sum items. They were all delicious and I enjoyed the sauces that accompanied. Our waitress, or rather tasting guide was delightful and provided plenty of information. Not sure if the pairing complimented the wine but definitely did not hinder it.

The Prisoner’s tasting room is a wonderful place to visit. The atmosphere is rustic and modern. The wine pairings with the food served were creative and well presented. Our tasting guide Andrew was knowledgeable without over explaining, (something we experienced at other vineyards). He was able to assess our groups wine knowledge and interests to make our experience pleasurable.We were offered a taste of a sparkling wine at check-in. We chose to wait outside to be called to the tasting area. My sister in law went in to return her empty glass she was offered an additional sip during our wait. Not a huge cost to the vineyard but we thought this was generous gesture.

I loved the experience! The place is beautiful. The quality of the wine and the service are impeccable. A simple and high quality tour with good cost/benefit. Roberto was our assistant. Excellent! A great experience for those who come to Napa Valley.

We walked in and were able to do a wine tasting. We chose the prisoner and Domaine curry tasting. We tried 5 wines and the sommelier was so knowledgeable about the history. The labels and the ladies of Domaine. It was so interesting.

Rob was very knowledgeable about the area and the wineries we visited. Great selection and he made it easy for us to purchase wine.

We had a great experience with platypus tours and I would use them again without hesitation. Prior to the tour, they communicated with us about our pickup and details about what the expect. On the day of, we were picked up at our hotel right on time, and taken to three wineries, one well known one and two smaller boutique ones. Each winery had great service and quality wines, and the included lunch was tasty and served in a beautiful setting at the second winry. We also enjoyed the group of people we went with and it was an overall great experience. The tasting fees are not included, but are discounted for the tour members so it really was reasonably priced. Taking ubers to these wineries alone would probably cost as much, if not more, than this tour, so it was an incredible value. I cannot recommend this tour enough, and would definitely use Platypus again when I'm in the area.

We had a great experience with Steven and Platypus! They were very responsive from the beginning and easy to arrange pick up and drop off. Steven was very knowledgable and went about and beyond to take care of us.

First time in Napa Valley and my daughter and I were on a girls trip to celebrate her graduating Grad School. We booked this winery tour very easily through Cool Napa. We went to three small wineries - that don't distribute wine to stores. Only sell direct to consumer, or some to restaurants. The wineries and vineyards were very small, family owned and our group was the only ones doing tastings while we were there - which gave us the full attention of the owners. We went to Laura Michael, Todeski, and one other (can't remember the name). We also stopped at Chateau Montelana for some pictures - but didn't do a tasting. It was very pretty place for pics. Our tour guide "Armie" was very good, he was very knowledgeable about the area and told us some of the history along the way, and he told us about each winery we visited. He also helped us when our tastings were over with our purchases. He was great!! I would have liked to stop at one more for a tasting, maybe a bigger winery, just for a bit of a different experience, but I would highly recommend this tour!
